Perdido Bay is a wide, open body of water that straddles the Florida-Alabama state line, offering a diverse riding experience for eFoilers. The water can be murky on the northern end, but it becomes increasingly clear and ocean-like as you approach Orange Beach or Perdido Key near Pensacola.
As you head closer to Orange Beach, expect to see an increased presence of law enforcement, including the U.S. Coast Guard and the Alabama Marine Police. While the Coast Guard generally shows little concern about eFoilers in the area, the Alabama Marine Police's response can vary - sometimes friendly, sometimes more strict.
To ride here confidently and avoid any issues, we strongly recommend registering your board, carrying all required safety equipment, and wearing a life jacket. With proper prep, Perdido Bay offers a beautiful and expansive area to explore - just be sure to stay on the right side of the rules.
The water is murky. We’ve returned to shore with minor cases of conjunctivitis after riding here. Additionally, you'll need to be careful, gators do travel in this water.
This is a heavily trafficked area. While there’s plenty of water space for riders to foil through, boaters often pass through here at high speed and generate wake.
Rider experience greatly depends on the weather. During calm times, this is among the easiest of rides. During windy times, this can be challenging water, even for experienced riders.

While we don't generally advise launching at boat ramps, this one surprisingly works. It's not slippery, and we've never stubbed our feet on anything hard or sharp.
