Great launch spot on the Hudson. Parking right next to the ramp and I’ve never been hassled. In peak summer months you might have to pay. Just next to the Tappan Zee Bridge you can head down there and play around under the bridge scooting in and around the pile caps. No hidden obstacles near the ramp but stay away from the shipwreck on your right as you head out. Also fun to zip through the yacht anchorage area in the summer or foil circuits around the bouys of the anchorage when the boats aren’t there off season.

Waters fine at this point on the Hudson. Further down the river, you sometimes get some boat discharges that you want to steer clear of.
Very limited boat traffic. Not a problem.
Good for beginners although the chop can be quite a bit for when the wind is blowing down the barrel of the river. Head to Croton-On-Hudson for the most sheltered water in these parts for absolute beginners or to teach a friend.
