Naples Bay sits interior, but parallel to the Gulf. We have mixed feelings about this ride. On one hand, it's absolutely beautiful, but boat traffic and shallow depths require cautious riding. We really enjoyed riding to the North. You'll pass two dining/commerce districts and tracts of friendly residential homes. Riding to the South requires caution - the depths can get shallow very quickly, you'll need to follow channel markers. The boats blasting through the South-end kicked up very visible clouds of sand into the water as they passed.
Cloudy, but otherwise clean and salty.
During tourist/snowbird season, expect massive amounts of boat traffic. Boaters seem respectful, but this is a wake-allowed zone and riders may find it challenging to stay up or get re-started.
Riders should be able to handle significant boat wake, though less experienced riders should be able to ride during less busy times (the evening/twilight hours seem ideal).

We weren't exactly sure where to launch our boards, but Naples Landings worked well. You'll need to be comfortable launching your board from a dock instead of a sandy berm (having another rider with you is helpful). Once in the water, you'll have a great time riding around here. Parking does cost, but you'll also find restrooms, picnic tables and a very nice (overall) park.
