Overview

Thompson Creek Park is a nice park with a boat ramp and restrooms just off of GA 400. One of the nieces aspects is the grass field with shade trees that you can back up to and set up your gear in the shade. Those with tender feet might want to bring booties, as the walk down into the lake is over Georgia red clay with lots of small rocks. This quiet cove opens up to the Thompson Creek branch of Lake Lanier, providing many protected coves and lots of areas to explore. - Bryan V.

Recommended Rider Experience

With the exception of weekends, this location is a good spot for riders of all levels. It's a quite protected cove that almost always has calm water. You do need to transverse a small opening into the main body of the lake, which at times can be busy with boat traffic.
