We can’t say it enough - we LOVE Bayou Grande! If you're looking for the ultimate eFoiling spot in Pensacola, this is it. Unlike Bayou Chico, the water here is clean and inviting, and it offers far more space to ride than Bayou Texar.
Another big plus? The bottom is mostly soft sand rather than murky silt, making it more beginner-friendly and comfortable if you end up in the water. Whether you're just learning to eFoil or you're an experienced rider looking to cruise at speed, Bayou Grande delivers. Smooth water, wide open space, and great vibes - it's our go-to spot.
Brackish-bayou water. Clear enough to see the bottom a few feet out from shore. Potential for high levels of bacteria, however this bayou is connected to Pensacola bay, which does help to cycle the water.
We experienced a very small amount of boat traffic. All were friendly and courteous. This is a wake-allowed zone though.
New riders will enjoy this smooth ride with few complications. Experienced riders will enjoy cruising around and exploring this bayou.

You won't be launching quite at the boat launch. Parking near the docks is reserved for vehicles with trailers attached. Instead, consider parking just north of W. Sunset Avenue. You'll find parking a short walk from the sandy/grassy shoreline.
2100 S. Fairfield Drive Pensacola, Florida 32507 United States
This is an absolutely beautiful launch spot for eFoils, however the surrounding neighborhood appears to be distressed. If you launch from here, make sure to secure your car and kit at all times.
John Tower Rd. Pensacola, Florida 32508 United States
For our military friends, you have access to Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola, which sits on the southern shore of Bayou Grande. While our editors aren't able to verify this launch location, it appears that there is an excellent launch location at the end of John Tower Road.
