What more can we say after we exclaim that we LOVE Bayou Grande! This is THE BEST bayou in Pensacola for eFoiling. The water here didn't appear gross like Bayou Chico and was much larger than Bayou Texar. Bonus - this bayou has more sand that silt on bottom. This is the perfect spot for beginners to get introduced to eFoiling, and experienced riders will enjoy just blasting around.
Brackish-bayou water. Clear enough to see the bottom a few feet out from shore. Potential for high levels of bacteria, however this bayou is connected to Pensacola bay, which does help to cycle the water.
We experienced a very small amount of boat traffic. All were friendly and courteous. This is a wake-allowed zone though.
New riders will enjoy this smooth ride with few complications. Experienced riders will enjoy cruising around and exploring this bayou.

You won't be launching quite at the boat launch. Parking near the docks is reserved for vehicles with trailers attached. Instead, consider parking just north of W. Sunset Avenue. You'll find parking a short walk from the sandy/grassy shoreline.
2100 S. Fairfield Drive Pensacola, Florida 32507 United States
This is an absolutely beautiful launch spot for eFoils, however the surrounding neighborhood appears to be distressed. If you launch from here, make sure to secure your car and kit at all times.
John Tower Rd. Pensacola, Florida 32508 United States
For our military friends, you have access to Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola, which sits on the southern shore of Bayou Grande. While our editors aren't able to verify this launch location, it appears that there is an excellent launch location at the end of John Tower Road.
